    From downtown Birmingham, take the MAX bus Route 43 (Zoo) from Central Station to the Lane Park Road and Apartment Complex stop. The entrance to the Gardens is a short walk north on Lane Park Road. This route operates on weekdays only. A single fare is approximately $1.25.

  • Driving

    From U.S. 280, take the Mountain Brook/Zoo/Garden exit (or the Zoo/Garden exit from the south). At the first traffic light off the exit, turn left, then immediately follow the signs to the right onto Lane Park Road. The Gardens entrance will be on your left in approximately ¼ mile. Limited on-site parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking costs £3.

Beyond the stunning plant collections, the Birmingham Botanical Gardens also host a variety of events and educational programs throughout the year. The Gardens are a result of a public/private partnership between the City of Birmingham and the nonprofit Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens. The Gardens also feature a horticultural library, the largest public horticulture library in the U.S., an education center, a gift shop, and a cafe.
