Getting There

  • Bus

    Start at downtown Huntsville and take the Route 4 bus towards the Hampton Cove area. Make sure to check the schedule as buses may not run frequently. Get off at the stop closest to the intersection of Highway 431 and Old Big Cove Road. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 miles along Old Big Cove Road, which will lead you toward the Hampton Cove community.

    Rent a bicycle from one of the local bike rental shops in Huntsville. Head southeast on the walking trails toward the Hampton Cove community. Follow the designated bike paths that connect to Old Big Cove Road. Once you reach Old Big Cove Road, continue straight for about 2 miles until you see signs directing you to the Hampton Cove Waterfall.

    If you prefer to walk, start at the Huntsville Botanical Garden located at 4747 Bob Wallace Ave SW, Huntsville, AL 35805. From the Botanical Garden, head east on Bob Wallace Avenue, then turn left onto Memorial Parkway. Walk south until you reach Old Big Cove Road, then turn right. Continue walking along Old Big Cove Road for about 1.5 miles, and you will eventually reach the entrance to the Hampton Cove Waterfall area.
