From Montgomery, Alabama, take I-65 North. Exit onto US-231 North towards Wetumpka. Follow US-231 to AL-143 North. Continue on AL-143, following signs for Lake Jordan. Several access points are available around the lake, including Bonner's Point and Rotary Landing. Parking is available at these access points. Note that parking can be limited during peak seasons and fishing tournaments.

Lake Jordan, also known as Jordan Reservoir, is a captivating destination located approximately 25 miles north of Montgomery, Alabama. This 6,800-acre impoundment on the Coosa River boasts 188 miles of shoreline, offering a diverse landscape and a wealth of recreational opportunities. Created in 1928 by Alabama Power, Lake Jordan was initially built for flood control and hydroelectricity generation. The Jordan Dam, a concrete arch dam, has a generating capacity of 100 megawatts. In 1967, the completion of Bouldin Dam connected an adjacent basin to Lake Jordan via a short canal. Today, the lake is a popular spot for boating, swimming, and especially fishing. Anglers will find a variety of fish species in Lake Jordan, including largemouth bass, spotted bass, bluegill, crappie, catfish, and striped bass. The lake is considered fertile and supports high densities of sport fish. Several public and private boat ramps provide access to the lake, including Bonner's Point on the west side and Rotary Landing on the east. Beyond the water, visitors can explore hiking trails such as the Swayback Bridge Trail and Jordan's Journey, which offer scenic views of the lake and surrounding woodlands.
