Getting There

• Walking

  From the Alabama State Capitol, head southwest on Dexter Avenue toward Court Street. Continue for approximately 0.4 miles. The Rosa Parks Museum will be on your left, across the street from the Rosa Parks Bus Stop historical marker. The walk is generally flat and takes about 8-10 minutes. Be mindful of traffic at intersections.

  The Montgomery Area Transit System (MATS) has several bus routes that stop near the Rosa Parks Museum complex. From the Intermodal Center at 495 Molton Street, take any MATS route that services downtown Montgomery. Get off at a stop on Montgomery Street near the Troy University campus. A single ride on MATS costs $1.25.

  Taxis and ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft are readily available in Montgomery. A ride from the Montgomery Intermodal Center or other downtown locations to the Rosa Parks Museum typically costs between $8 and $15, depending on traffic and demand. From I-65, take the Herron St. Exit (exit #172) and turn right onto Herron St. Go 0.2 mi, and bear left onto Bibb St. Go 0.2 mi., and turn right onto Molton St. The Rosa Parks Library and Museum Building will be on your left at the corner of Molton St. and Montgomery St. Free parking is available in any Troy University Montgomery parking lot, but be careful not to park in any space marked as reserved or in lots owned by other private businesses. Metered street parking is also available; meters are enforced weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and cost approximately $1 per hour.
