Discover more about Roberts Home 'Night In The Museum'

The Roberts Home 'Night In The Museum' offers a distinctive blend of history and hospitality in Piedmont, Alabama. This beautifully renovated 1880 home, also known as the Dailey-McCollister Roberts Home, is both a museum and a hotel, providing guests with an immersive experience of Piedmont's rich past. Built by Major Jacob Forney Dailey for his daughter Mary Catherine Dailey around 1880, the house is one of Piedmont's oldest and best-preserved homes. It features exquisite woodwork, original wavy glass windows, and decorative gingerbread carving. The home changed hands a few times before J.E. Roberts purchased it in 1905, and it remained in the Roberts family until 1999. Two Roberts family members, Miss Leola and Miss Ruby, were long-time educators in Piedmont. Today, the Roberts Home features two quaint bedrooms, the Ruby Room and the Leola Room, each furnished with two twin beds. Guests have access to a full kitchen, dining room, sitting room, and a shared, handicap-accessible bathroom. The location also provides modern amenities such as updated electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, ensuring a comfortable and safe stay. The Piedmont Historical Society acquired the home to preserve it, preventing its demolition for a parking lot. Staying here is more than just lodging; it's an opportunity to connect with local history and support the preservation of a community treasure.
