Walking
To reach Karavasta Lagoon from the center of Berat, start at the Berat Castle, a well-known landmark. Head southeast on Rruga Mihal Komnena towards Rruga Gjon Buzuku. Continue straight and take a left at the intersection onto Rruga Xhorxhi Martini. Walk until you reach the bus station in the center of Berat. Here, you will find local buses heading towards the town of Divjakë. Board one of these buses, and inform the driver that you are going to Karavasta Lagoon. The ride will take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at the entrance of Karavasta Lagoon, follow the path that leads directly into the lagoon area. Enjoy the scenic views and the natural beauty of the lagoon!
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from a local shop in Berat. Start your journey from the Berat Castle and head down towards the main road, Rruga Bulevardi Republika. Follow the road northwest until you reach the intersection with Rruga Gjon Buzuku. Turn left onto Rruga Gjon Buzuku and proceed to the bus station. Continue straight on the main road towards Divjakë. The route is approximately 20 kilometers and will take about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your cycling speed. Upon reaching Divjakë, park your bicycle and walk towards the lagoon entrance to enjoy the stunning views.
Public Transport
From Berat, go to the central bus station located near the city center, close to the intersection of Rruga Xhorxhi Martini and Rruga Mihal Komnena. Look for buses heading towards Divjakë, which is the nearest town to Karavasta Lagoon. The bus ride takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Divjakë, ask locals for directions to Karavasta Lagoon, which is about 5 kilometers away. You can either walk or consider a local taxi if needed. Keep an eye out for signage indicating the lagoon entrance!
