Getting There

  • Walking

    From Radomirë, the most common approach involves a full-day hike. Follow the marked trail towards Mount Korab. The path is well-trodden but can be steep in sections. The route to Little Korab Gate is a challenging but rewarding trek. No fees are required for accessing the trail.

  • Car

    To reach the trailhead near Radomirë, take the newly asphalted turn-off from the main road between Peshkopi and Kukës. Be aware that the road to Radomirë can be bumpy in sections, and a four-wheel-drive vehicle with high clearance may be required. Parking is available in the village. There are no parking fees.

Little Korab Gate (Albanian: Porta e Korabit të Vogël; Macedonian: Мала Корабска Врата, romanized: Mala Korabska Vrata) is a mountain pass situated on the border of Albania and North Macedonia. It's located southwest of Mount Korab, the highest peak in both countries. Little Korab Gate stands at an elevation of 2,465 m (8,087 ft), offering panoramic views of the surrounding rugged landscape. The pass is 403 meters higher than Big Korab Gate, which is located on the northern slope of Mount Korab. The Korab range stretches for over 40 kilometers in a north-south direction, forming a natural border between Albania and North Macedonia. The area is known for its alpine climate and flora, with elements of Bosnian pine, European beech and alder. Hiking to Little Korab Gate and Mount Korab is a popular activity, with the easiest route to the summit starting from the village of Radomirë on the Albanian side. The High Scardus Trail, a long-distance walking trail through Albania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia, also passes through this region.
