    The Tyrbja e Kapllan Pashës is located in the city center, near Skanderbeg Square. From the square, walk east along Rruga 28 Nëntori. The tomb will be on your right, set back slightly from the street. There is no entrance fee.

  • Public Transport

    Tirana's public transportation system includes buses that operate throughout the city. Many bus lines have stops around the pedestrian zone on Skanderbeg Square. A non-transfer ticket costs 40 Lek. From a bus stop near Skanderbeg Square, the tomb is a short walk away.

  • Taxi

    Taxis are readily available in Tirana. An average taxi ride within the city center should not cost more than 500 Lek. It's best to agree on the price in advance. Taxi fares in Tirana include an initial fare for the first 1.5 km, and then a per-kilometer and per-minute fee. The initial fare is 350 Lek. Some taxi companies include: Speed Taxi, Green Taxi, Blue Taxi, City Taxi and Merr Taxi.

Tyrbja e Kapllan Pashës, or the Tomb of Kapllan Pasha, stands as a significant historical landmark in the center of Tirana, offering a glimpse into the city's Ottoman past. Constructed in 1817, the tomb was dedicated to Kapllan Pasha, who governed Tirana during the early 19th century. It was originally part of a larger cemetery complex associated with Tirana's first mosque; however, it is the sole survivor, as the other six tombs were destroyed during World War II.The tomb features a distinctive octagonal shape, with eight carved stone columns resting on stone bases and topped with plant motif capitals. These columns support arches, showcasing the intricate craftsmanship of the era. Although Kapllan Pasha was initially buried here, his remains were later moved to Istanbul, Turkey. The Municipality of Tirana restored the tomb in 1985 to ensure its preservation for future generations.Today, Tyrbja e Kapllan Pashës stands in contrast to the modern buildings surrounding it, serving as a reminder of Tirana's layered history. It is located near Skanderbeg Square, making it easily accessible to visitors. The tomb is an open structure without a roof or dome.
