The arches, varying in span from 9 to 16.7 meters, give the bridge its distinctive and elegant appearance.Local legend tells of a dark tradition associated with the original wooden bridge: a young girl was said to have been imprisoned and starved within a dungeon in the bridge's foundation as a sacrifice to appease the spirits and ensure the bridge's safety.
