    From Skanderbeg Square, walk south along Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard. Continue past the University of Tirana, and the park entrance will be on your left. The walk is approximately 2 kilometers and should take around 25 minutes.

    Tirana Park, officially known as the Grand Park of Tirana (Parku i Madh i Tiranës), is a vital green space in Albania's capital. Built between 1955 and 1956 based on a Bulgarian plan, the park initially was called the Gogo stable, later named after the Saint Procopius Church located within its boundaries. The park provides a refreshing escape from the urban environment, offering diverse flora and fauna.The park features a large artificial lake, constructed in 1955, which serves as a focal point for recreation and relaxation. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks or boat rides on the lake. The park also includes landmarks such as the Presidential Palace and the Saint Procopius Church, adding historical and cultural significance to the area. The Royal Palace, whose building was started by Zog of Albania, served as a Royal Palace only once, for the Italian King Victor Emmanuel III during his only visit to Albania in May 1941 as King of Albania.Within the park, visitors can find memorials dedicated to British and Australian soldiers who died during World War II, as well as a memorial to German soldiers from the same war. The park is also the final resting place for notable Albanian figures, including the Frashëri brothers and Faik Konitza. In 2020, a Holocaust memorial was unveiled at an entrance to the park, honoring the Albanians who protected Jews from the Nazis.The park includes a botanical garden with native Albanian plants, an amphitheater that hosts cultural events, sports facilities, and swimming pools. The park is considered the "Lung of the City" due to its diverse plant life.
