  • Public Transport

    From Tirana's city center (near Skanderbeg Square), take the blue 'Porcelan' bus. The bus departs near the Clock Tower. A one-way ticket costs 40 Lekë. Tell the driver you're going to 'Teleferik' (cable car). The bus ride takes 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. From the last bus stop, walk uphill for about 5 minutes to reach the Dajti Ekspres ticket office.

  • Taxi

    Metered taxis are readily available in Tirana's city center. A one-way trip from the center to the Dajti Ekspres lower station typically costs between 700-1000 Lekë (6-8 EUR). It's advisable to either ask the driver to use the meter or negotiate a fixed price before starting the journey. Merr Taxi offers a negotiated rate of 750 Lekë from the city center.

  • Cable Car

    After arriving at the Dajti Ekspres lower station, purchase a cable car ticket. A round-trip ticket costs 1400 Lekë for adults. Children aged 5-12 have a reduced rate, and children under 5 ride free. The cable car ride to the top of Dajti Mountain takes approximately 15 minutes.

Dajti Mountain, rising 1,613 meters (5,292 feet) above sea level, is a natural oasis just a short distance from Albania's capital city, Tirana. As part of the Skanderbeg Mountains range, Dajti extends eight kilometers from Shkalla e Tujanit to Qafa e Priskës. The mountain's name may originate from the Greek goddess Diktynna. Dajti Mountain National Park, established in 1966, encompasses 293.84 square kilometers (113.45 sq mi) of diverse ecosystems. The park is characterized by rugged terrain, creating habitats for various plant and animal species. The western slope features three vegetation belts: Mediterranean shrubs at the base, oak forests in the middle, and a mix of beech and conifer trees at higher elevations. Wildlife includes wild boars, Eurasian wolves, red foxes, brown bears and European wildcats. Visitors can ascend Dajti Mountain via the Dajti Ekspres, the longest cable car in the Balkans. The 15-minute ride offers breathtaking views of Tirana, the surrounding lowlands, and the Adriatic Sea. At the summit, a range of activities await, including hiking trails that lead to the peak of Tujani , an adventure park , and traditional Albanian restaurants. The mountain also holds historical significance, with evidence of ancient settlements dating back 10,000 years. Fortifications from various periods, including prehistoric times, antiquity, the medieval era, and even World War II, have been discovered.
