Bab El Fouka, historically named Bab El Bounoud (Gate of the Standards), is a significant landmark in Béjaïa, Algeria, with a rich history dating back to 1070. Constructed by the Hammadid Sultan al-Nasir, this gate was one of five that pierced the wall surrounding the city. It served as a monumental entrance and a key point of control for interaction with inland regions.In its prime, Bab El Fouka was adorned with large blades, framed by two bastions and flanked by two turrets.
