La Noblesse du Temps: Dalí's Melting Clock in Andorra

Located in the heart of Andorra la Vella, on the Plaça de la Rotonda, stands *La Noblesse du Temps* (The Nobility of Time), a captivating bronze sculpture by Salvador Dalí. Gifted to Andorra in 1999 but not installed until 2010, this monumental artwork has become one of the city's most recognizable landmarks. The sculpture features a melting clock draped over a skeletal tree, a motif synonymous with Dalí's surrealist style. The melting clock, famously depicted in *The Persistence of Memory*, represents the fluidity of time and how human perception influences its passage. The sculpture also incorporates an angel, seemingly lost in thought, and a woman emerging from a bath, symbolizing the duality between despair and hope. *La Noblesse du Temps* invites contemplation on the nature of time and existence. The surrounding Plaça de la Rotonda enhances the experience, offering a vibrant atmosphere with stunning mountain views, cafes, and shops. It's a perfect spot for relaxation, cultural immersion, and capturing memorable photographs. The sculpture weighs 1,400 kilograms and rises 4.90 meters above the ground. It was cast in 1984 and exhibited in various cities before finding its permanent home in Andorra la Vella. Enric Sabater, Dalí's agent from 1968 to 1982, gifted the sculpture to Andorra.
