    The final approach to Pic de la Serrera involves a challenging hike. From Canillo, take the road towards La Coma de Ransol. After the village, park where the asphalt ends and begin the trail alongside the Meners River. Follow the yellow markers, crossing the river and ascending towards the Meners de la Coma Lake. Continue to Collada dels Meners, an old iron site, and then the final climb to the peak. This final walking portion has no cost associated.

  • Public Transport

    To reach the trailhead near Ransol from Canillo, a local bus can be taken. From the bus stop in Canillo, a one-way ticket to Ransol costs approximately €1.80. From Ransol, follow the walking directions to the peak. Keep in mind that bus schedules may be limited, especially during off-season.

  • Taxi

    A taxi from Canillo to the road end at La Coma de Ransol, the starting point of the hike, is also an option. The taxi ride would cost approximately €35-€45. From there, follow the walking directions to the peak.

Several routes exist, with popular starting points including the road to La Coma de Ransol and the Sorteny Nature Park. The trail from Ransol is shorter but steeper, while the route from Sorteny Nature Park is longer but offers more gradual elevation gain. Hikers can expect an elevation gain of around 985 to 1,129 meters (3,232 to 3,704 feet) and a round trip distance of approximately 4.69 to 7.165 kilometers (2.9 to 4.45 miles), with a duration of 3-6 hours.Historically, the area around Pic de la Serrera was bustling with activity due to iron mining operations in the 17th to 19th centuries. Remnants of these mines can still be seen along the trail, offering a glimpse into Andorra's industrial past. The path to Pic de la Serrera starts on the road to la Coma de Ransol, after the village of the same name, where you can leave your car.For safety, it's recommended to hike at altitudes above 1,700 meters between late June and late September. However, depending on weather and terrain conditions, the season may extend from May to October.
