Discover more about Museu Casa Rull

Museu Casa Rull provides an immersive journey into Andorra's rural past. Situated in Sispony, La Massana, this historic house-museum unveils the lifestyle of a well-to-do peasant family during the 19th and early 20th centuries. The Rull family, one of the oldest in Andorra, dates back to the 14th century. The current Casa Rull was constructed in 1723, although earlier structures existed on the site. The Rulls were farmers who cultivated cereals and legumes and raised sheep. In 1757, Tomàs Perich, a wealthy merchant, married into the family, elevating their status. The Perichs became prominent landowners, known as "pagesos grassos" (fat peasants). The house itself reflects the family's evolution and the changing times. Built in the 17th century, it underwent transformations, including a reconstruction after a fire in the 19th century that affected the attic. The building consists of two upper floors, a ground floor, and an attic. Inside, visitors can explore the different rooms, each filled with original furniture and utensils that depict daily life, agriculture, and livestock farming. In 2000, the Andorran government transformed Casa Rull into a museum to preserve and showcase Andorra's cultural heritage. The museum highlights the unique family and social structure that prevailed in Andorra's valleys until the last century, preserving both its physical and historical memory. Visitors can take a self-guided tour with an audio guide or request a guided tour for a more in-depth experience.
