Located roughly 18 kilometers (11 miles) from Lubango in the Huíla Province, the gap sits on the edge of the Serra da Leba escarpment, marking the western boundary of the Humpata Plateau.Formed by tectonic activity and erosion over millions of years, Tundavala Gap features dramatic cliffs that rise to over 2,200 meters (7,200 feet) above sea level. From the edge, the land plunges approximately 1,000 meters (3,300 feet) to the plains below, providing a panoramic vista that extends over 10,000 square kilometers (3,900 sq mi) towards Moçâmedes.
