    From Nelson's Dockyard, walk towards the marina and follow the signs for Fort Berkeley. Pass around the fort and take the trail to the left, marked for Middle Ground. Follow the white dots painted on the rocks to stay on the path. The trail ends at Pigeon Beach, from where you can walk back along the road or return via the trail.

  • Public Transport

    From St. John's, take a local bus towards English Harbour or Falmouth. The ride takes approximately 30-40 minutes and costs around 3-5 EC dollars. Get off the bus at English Harbour and walk towards the coast, following signs to the Middle Ground Trail. The trailhead is about a 15-20 minute walk from the center of English Harbour.

As you traverse the trail, you'll encounter multiple historic sites, including the One Gun Battery, an old barracks area, and Fort Cuyler.
