If you're on a budget, you can take a public bus from St. John's to Jolly Harbour and then walk or take a short taxi ride to Darkwood Beach. Buses leave from the West Bus Station in St. John's. The bus fare to Jolly Harbour is around 3 XCD. From Jolly Harbour, you can walk south along Valley Road for about 45 minutes or take a taxi for approximately $10-15 USD.

If you have rented a car, Darkwood Beach is easily accessible via Valley Road, south of Jolly Harbour. There is free parking available near the beach. Be aware that the road is adjacent to the beach. From St. John's, follow the main road south towards Jolly Harbour, then continue along Valley Road. The drive takes about 25-30 minutes.
