Discover more about Cerro Campanario

Cerro Campanario, or Campanario Hill, stands as one of Bariloche's most celebrated viewpoints, offering visitors a cinematic panorama of the region's natural beauty. From its summit, reached either by a leisurely chairlift or a moderately challenging hike, you're treated to uninterrupted 360-degree views. Glistening lakes stretch out in all directions, dotted with islands and framed by the snow-capped Andes Mountains. Landmarks like the iconic Hotel Llao Llao and the distant peaks of Cerro Catedral and Cerro López can be easily spotted. The hill itself has a history rooted in the early 20th century when Primo Modesto Capraro, an Italian immigrant, owned the land. It was later named Cerro Campanario after a religious mass was held there in 1930. Today, it's a must-visit destination for anyone seeking to capture the essence of Bariloche's breathtaking landscapes. At the summit, a Confitería (cafe) provides a cozy spot to enjoy a snack or warm drink while soaking in the views. Whether you choose to hike or take the chairlift, Cerro Campanario promises an unforgettable experience and some of the best photo opportunities in Patagonia.
