Located in the heart of the Calchaquí Valleys, Bodega Vasija Secreta stands as the oldest winery in the Salta province of Argentina, with a history dating back over 150 years. This iconic winery has become a must-visit destination on the Salta Wine Route, offering a unique blend of history, wine tourism, and stunning landscapes. The name 'Vasija Secreta' (Secret Vessel) evokes the mystery and family tradition of winemaking, inviting visitors to step back in time as they explore the grounds. Founded in 1857 by Spanish families, the winery, originally known as La Banda, retains the architectural features of colonial estates, with an inner courtyard, galleries, and cane and mud roofs. Today, owned by the Córdova Murga family, Vasija Secreta combines traditional methods with updated techniques to produce high-quality wines. Visitors can explore the Wine Museum, showcasing the origins and evolution of winemaking with antique tools like filters, wine presses, and scales. Guided tours explain each stage of wine production, from grape cultivation to bottling, followed by tastings of representative labels such as Torrontés, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Tannat. The winery is known for its Torrontés, a fragrant white wine with aromas of pineapple and apricot, and its full-bodied Malbec. Vasija Secreta also produces a semi-sweet Torrontés called Gata Flora. The experience is enhanced by views of the surrounding vineyards and the natural environment.
