The primary access to Cascada Frey is via a hiking trail. Starting from the Puerto Pañuelo area, where boat trips on the lake dock, follow the clearly marked trails into the forest. The hike is moderately challenging and takes approximately 2-3 hours each way. There are no entrance fees to access the trail or the waterfall.
Public Transport
To reach Puerto Pañuelo, where the hike to Cascada Frey begins, take Bus Route 20 from the center of San Carlos de Bariloche. The bus ride takes approximately 45 minutes. A single fare is around ARS 50-100. From Puerto Pañuelo, follow the walking guidance to reach the waterfall.
