From San Carlos de Bariloche, take Bus #55 to Villa Catedral (Cerro Catedral ski resort). Buses run approximately every hour from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, departing from the bus terminal and passing through the city center. Get off at the last stop in the car park at the base of the ski resort. From there, hike approximately 12 km to Laguna Toncek and Refugio Frey. A rechargeable bus pass or prepaid ticket is required.

If starting from Cerro Catedral, follow the trail towards Refugio Frey. The hike is approximately 12 km and takes 4-5 hours. Alternatively, from Camping Lago Gutiérrez, hike approximately 2.5 hours to connect with the main trail to Refugio Frey and Laguna Toncek. Ensure you have a map and are prepared for a challenging hike.
