Getting There

• Car

  From Cerro Tronador, take Route 40 south towards San Carlos de Bariloche. The drive is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, covering around 150 kilometers. Once you reach Bariloche, follow signs for Avenida de los Pioneros, then take a left onto Calle 30 de Octubre. After about 2 kilometers, turn right onto Ruta Provincial 82. Continue on this road for approximately 15 kilometers until you reach the parking area for Piedra de Habsburgo. Note that there may be a small parking fee, so keep some cash on hand.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Piedra de Habsburgo using public transport, start by taking a bus from Cerro Tronador to San Carlos de Bariloche. Several companies operate this route, and the journey takes about 2 hours. Once in Bariloche, head to the main bus terminal and catch a bus heading to Villa Los Coihues or Cerro Catedral. Ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest stop to Ruta Provincial 82. From there, it is a 15-minute walk to the parking area for Piedra de Habsburgo. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance as they may vary.

• Hiking

  If you prefer an adventurous route, consider hiking from the parking area at Ruta Provincial 82 to Piedra de Habsburgo. The trail is well-marked and takes approximately 2-3 hours one way, depending on your pace. Make sure to wear sturdy hiking boots and bring enough water and snacks for the hike. The views along the way are breathtaking and worth the effort.
