Getting There

• Walking

  From the main square (Plaza de los Pioneros) in El Calafate, head southeast on Avenida Libertador towards Avenida San Martín. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Avenida del Libertador. Turn right onto Avenida del Libertador and continue walking for about 1 kilometer. You will pass several shops and cafes along the way. After approximately 15 minutes of walking, you will reach the bus stop for local transport. From there, you can take a local bus heading towards RP11, which will take you closer to the museum.

• Bus

  Once you arrive at the bus stop, look for a bus heading towards the 'Glaciarium' or 'El Calafate - Glaciarium' route. Buses depart regularly, but it’s advisable to check the schedule posted at the bus stop or ask locals for assistance. The bus ride will take around 10-15 minutes. Get off at the stop nearest to the Glaciarium Patagonian Ice Museum, which is located on RP11. The museum will be a short walk from the bus stop, just follow the directional signs.

• Bicycle Rental

  If you prefer cycling, there are several bicycle rental shops near Plaza de los Pioneros. Rent a bike and head southeast on Avenida Libertador, then turn right onto Avenida del Libertador. Follow the road towards RP11. The ride should take about 20-25 minutes, depending on your speed. There are bike lanes along the way, making it a comfortable ride. Once you reach RP11, follow the signs to the museum.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct and comfortable option, you can take a taxi from anywhere in El Calafate. Simply flag down a taxi or call for one from your accommodation. Inform the driver that you want to go to Glaciarium Patagonian Ice Museum on RP11. The ride will take about 10 minutes, depending on traffic.
