Aquarium Mar del Plata, located near the Punta Mogotes Lighthouse, has been a landmark attraction since it opened in 1993.
For over three decades, the aquarium has provided visitors with unforgettable experiences, showcasing a diverse collection of marine life, including dolphins, sea lions, penguins, and various species of fish, reptiles, and birds. The aquarium is not only a place for entertainment but also plays a crucial role in education, research, and the rehabilitation of marine fauna.
The aquarium features several exhibits and experiences. Visitors can witness captivating dolphin and sea lion shows, explore the penguin habitat, and discover diverse marine species in the ocean museum. For a more hands-on experience, the aquarium offers encounters with dolphins and sea lions, as well as diving and immersion programs with fish and sharks.
It is with deep regret that the Aquarium Mar del Plata is closing its doors on March 31st, 2025, due to not reaching an agreement regarding the rental value of the property. The animals will be relocated to other parks of similar characteristics.
