    If you're driving, the nearest major city is El Chaltén, which is approximately 3 hours from the town of El Calafate. From El Chaltén, take Route 23 towards Lago del Desierto. Note that the road to Cerro Torre is unpaved and may require a 4WD vehicle for the final stretch.
