Discover more about Tipiliuke Lodge

Tipiliuke Lodge, part of the Estancia Cerro de los Pinos, offers a unique blend of luxury and Patagonian tradition. Founded in 1909 by Jacques de Larminat, a Frenchman who sought new opportunities in Argentina, the estancia has remained in the family for generations. Today, Jacques' grandsons, Miguel and Pedro, continue to run the ranch, preserving its rich history and natural beauty. The lodge itself is renowned for its exceptional service, attention to detail, and breathtaking setting. Guests can immerse themselves in the daily life of a working cattle ranch, observing gauchos (Argentinian cowboys) tending to over 4,000 head of cattle. The estancia's diverse landscape, bisected by the Chimehuin and Quilquihue rivers and framed by the Andes Mountains, provides a stunning backdrop for a variety of activities. Fly fishing is a major draw, with access to nine miles of private water on the Rio Chimehuin and six miles on the Rio Quilquihue. The rivers are teeming with brown and rainbow trout, offering exceptional walk/wade and float fishing opportunities. For non-anglers, Tipiliuke offers horseback riding, hiking, bird watching, and mountain biking. Guests can also relax with a massage, yoga session, or sauna. The lodge is conveniently located near the Chapelco Golf Resort, allowing guests to enjoy a round of golf on a Jack Nicklaus-designed course. The lodge accommodates up to 16 guests in nine well-appointed rooms, each with a private bath. The cuisine is authentically Argentine, featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients. In the evenings, guests can gather around the fire, enjoying fine Argentine wines and sharing stories under the Southern Cross.
