Car
If you are driving from the main entrance of the Perito Moreno Glacier, head southeast on Ruta Provincial 11. Continue for about 6 kilometers until you reach the entrance of the Los Glaciares National Park. There is an entrance fee of approximately 800 ARS for foreigners, so be prepared to pay this at the gate. After passing through the entrance, follow the signs indicating 'Pasarelas' (walkways) and continue for another 6 kilometers. You'll reach a parking area where you can leave your car. From there, take the marked trails leading towards the Canal de los Témpanos, which is clearly indicated by signs. The walk is about 1.5 kilometers and takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Enjoy the stunning views of the glacier along the way!

To reach Canal de los Témpanos using public transportation, start at the main bus terminal in El Calafate. Purchase a ticket for the bus to Los Glaciares National Park, which typically costs around 800 ARS. Buses run frequently during the tourist season, but it's best to check the schedule in advance. The bus ride takes about 80 minutes. Once you arrive at the park entrance, pay the entrance fee of approximately 800 ARS. After entering the park, you can either walk or take a shuttle (if available) to the main viewing areas. Follow the signs towards the Canal de los Témpanos; the walk from the main viewing areas to the canal is about 1.5 kilometers. Make sure to allocate enough time for your return trip.
