Car
To reach Volcán Diamante by car from Purmamarca, take Route 9 (Ruta Nacional 9) heading south. Continue for approximately 60 km until you reach the town of Tilcara. From Tilcara, take Route 73 (Ruta Provincial 73) heading west for around 30 km until you reach the junction with Route 40 (Ruta Nacional 40). Turn left onto Route 40 and follow it for another 40 km until you reach the turnoff for Volcán Diamante. The total drive time is approximately 2 hours, depending on road conditions. Make sure to fill up on gas in Tilcara, as services may be limited near the volcano.
