Getting There

• Car

  From the center of Ushuaia, head northwest on Avenida San Martín towards Avenida Maipú. Continue on Avenida Maipú, then take a left onto Calle Gobernador Paz. Follow this road, which will become Ruta 3, for approximately 7 kilometers. Turn right onto Ruta J, where you will find signs for Tierra del Fuego National Park. Continue straight until you reach the park entrance. After entering the park, follow the signs leading to Cerro del Medio. Be aware that there may be an entrance fee required for the national park.

• Public Transportation

  From Ushuaia, you can take a bus from the main bus terminal to Tierra del Fuego National Park. Look for buses heading towards the park; they typically leave every hour. Once you arrive at the park entrance, purchase a ticket if required. After entering the park, you may need to walk or hire a local guide to reach Cerro del Medio, as public transportation does not go directly to the peak.

• Hiking

  If you are already within Tierra del Fuego National Park and prefer hiking, look for the marked trails leading towards Cerro del Medio. Depending on your starting point, the hike may take a few hours. Make sure to carry enough water and snacks, as well as a map of the park. Always check the weather conditions before starting your hike.
