Majestic Glacial Martial: A Natural Wonderland

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, head towards Ushuaia from any location in Tierra del Fuego National Park. Once you reach Ushuaia, follow Av. San Martín until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Av. Maipú and continue straight until you reach the end of the avenue. Here, you will see signs for Glacial Martial. Turn onto Luis Fernando Martial road and follow it for approximately 12 kilometers. The road will lead you directly to the parking area near the base of Glacial Martial, where you can begin your hike.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Glacial Martial via public transport, take a bus from Ushuaia to the base of the martial glacier. Look for buses labeled 'Martial' or inquire at local bus stations for the correct line. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the designated stop on Luis Fernando Martial road, you will find signs directing you to the hiking trail leading up to the glacier. Be sure to check the bus schedule for return trips, as they may not run frequently.

• Hiking

  After reaching the parking area or bus stop at the base of Glacial Martial, you will need to hike approximately 2 kilometers along a well-marked trail to reach the glacier itself. The trail can be steep and rocky, so appropriate footwear is recommended. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and forests. The hike may take around 1-2 hours depending on your pace.
