Unveiling Tigre Secrets of Delta & Rio de la Plata
A nature filled break from the city
Had a great afternoon with Sergio and Cristina (I hope I haven’t got your name wrong!) over 4 hours exploring the Tigre Delta by boat in the sunshine - don’t forget to bring a hat and sunscreen! I am really glad I experienced this and chose Sergio. He’s a really fun, enthusiastic and kind man with a lot of knowledge that he loves to share about the Delta. Cristina did a great job with translating to English and all 3 of us had a lot of fun :) Side note: arriving to Tigre by train is really easy and cost effective - with trains running frequently. Retiro is the main station for the B.A centre. Make sure you have a SUBE card if you haven’t already (you can get it at the transport office at Retiro station amongst other places in the city).

Tigre Delta is a group of island forming from the sediment brought into Buenos Aires from the currents. As the islands form people gradually populate them, seeking a quiet way of life or weekend breaks. Houses and jetties are built on stilts to allow for tides. A 2 hour boat trip, brief visit to local market followed by bus trip back to the centre of Buenos Aires. Unfortunately while returning there was a bad storm so we got wet on the 5 block walk back to our hotel. A really interesting trip.

A way to get to know the Delta.
It is a very nice way to get to know the life of the Delta. Surely you will want to come back and stay in a Club where you can spend a whole day or why not a night. It is a different life where canals are the way of getting around and the way of living.
