Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From the center of Villa La Angostura, head to the bus terminal on Av. San Martín. Take a local bus towards San Martín de los Andes and purchase a ticket. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the Cascada Inacayal stop; confirm the correct stop with the driver, as it may vary. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. After getting off the bus, walk back along Route 40 for about 200 meters until you see the entrance to C. Sendero a la Cascada on your left. Bus fare is approximately ARS 50-100. Check local timetables for accurate departure times.

  • Walking

    If starting near the center of Villa La Angostura, begin on Av. San Martín and then take C. 12 de Octubre. Continue until you reach Route 40. It's approximately an 8 km hike to the trailhead, so be prepared for a lengthy walk. Bring water and comfortable walking shoes. Once you reach the junction with Route 40, follow the directions as mentioned above to reach the entrance. Walking is free, but allow ample time.

    From the center of Villa La Angostura, head south on Av. San Martín and take a left onto C. 12 de Octubre. Continue for about 1.5 km until you reach the junction with Route 40. Turn right onto Route 40 and follow the signs towards San Martín de los Andes. After approximately 6 km, look for the sign for 'Cascada Inacayal' on your left. Turn onto C. Sendero a la Cascada, where you will find a parking area near the trailhead. Parking is usually free, but some areas may require a fee. As of April 2019, parking costed ARS 100.
