Car
If you are driving, start from the North Rim Visitor Center located at 63292 AZ-67, North Rim, AZ 86052. Head northwest on AZ-67 N for approximately 11 miles. Look for signs directing you to Point Imperial as you approach the area. The road will lead you to the Point Imperial parking lot where you'll find a short walking path to the viewpoint. Note that parking is free, but be aware of seasonal road closures, especially in winter.
Public Transportation
Public transportation options are very limited in this remote area. However, if you are staying at a lodge or campground in the North Rim area, check with them for potential shuttle services to Point Imperial. These may be available during the peak tourist season. Be sure to confirm any costs associated with shuttle services when you make your reservation.
Hiking
For the more adventurous, consider hiking to Point Imperial if you are already on the North Rim. From the North Rim Lodge, you can take the Transept Trail, which connects to the Point Imperial Trail. The hike is about 3.5 miles one way, offering stunning views along the trail. Ensure you wear proper hiking boots and carry plenty of water. This is a free option, but plan for a round trip of approximately 7 miles.
