    To reach Yaki Point, take the free Kaibab Rim Route (Orange) shuttle from the Grand Canyon Visitor Center. The shuttle runs regularly, with increased frequency during peak season. Check the park's official website for the most up-to-date schedule. The shuttle is free.

  • Walking

    Alternatively, you can walk to Yaki Point from the main road (Desert View Drive) by parking at a nearby picnic area. From there, it's approximately a 1.5-mile walk to the point. Be prepared for a moderate hike with some elevation gain. No cost.

Unlike the nearby Mather and Yavapai Points, Yaki Point juts out, offering westward views encompassing the Bright Angel Trail and the switchbacks of the South Kaibab Trail. To the east, you can see Cremation Creek and mesas near Clear Creek on the North Rim.Originally named Yaki Trail, the South Kaibab Trail was constructed near Yaki Point in 1925. The East Rim Drive's completion in 1931 enhanced accessibility to the area. To reduce pollution and overcrowding, private vehicles are restricted, and access is via the free Kaibab Rim Route shuttle. Yaki Point is known as an ideal spot to witness the vivid colors of sunrise and sunset over the canyon. The lack of private vehicle access contributes to a more serene experience.
