The building itself has a rich history, originally constructed in the 1930s as a WPA (Works Progress Administration) project during the Great Depression. It served as a gas station in the 1950s before becoming a bar in the 1960s. Legend says that a construction worker bought the bar, and his wife protested, calling it that "damn bar". The name stuck, and the Dambar eventually expanded into a full-service restaurant.Inside, the Dambar exudes a casual, Wild West ambiance. Wooden booths, sawdust on the floor, and walls adorned with ranching history create a unique and welcoming atmosphere. A dedicated room showcases the life and career of Andy Devine, adding a touch of local celebrity to the experience.
