Discover more about Kingman Station

Kingman Station, situated in the historic Kingman Railroad Depot, stands as a testament to the city's vibrant past and its enduring connection to both the railway and Route 66. Constructed in 1907 by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, the depot replaced three previous stations that were destroyed by fire. The current structure was built using poured concrete in an effort to ensure a fireproofed building. The station's architecture showcases the Spanish Mission style, complete with a fanciful roofline and curvilinear gables. After falling into disrepair in the early 2000s, the depot underwent a comprehensive restoration, reopening in 2011. Today, one half of the depot serves as an Amtrak waiting room and office space, while the other half houses the Kingman Railroad Museum. As a stop on Amtrak's Southwest Chief route, Kingman Station provides daily service to and from destinations like Chicago and Los Angeles. The station also serves as a transfer point for Amtrak Thruway buses to Laughlin and Las Vegas. The Kingman Railroad Museum, operated by the Whistle Stop Railroad Club, offers visitors a chance to explore the history of railroading in the area.
