Discover more about The Post

The Post stands as a testament to Mesa's rich history, located at 26 N Macdonald in the heart of downtown. Originally constructed in 1936 and expanded in 1960, this building served as Mesa's first post office until around 1980. The building was then repurposed as a federal facility, housing the US Forest Service, US Fish and Wildlife, and other federal agencies. In 2002, the City of Mesa acquired the building and utilized it for storage for the Arizona Museum of Natural History. Recognizing its historical significance and community potential, Mesa voters approved a $7.4 million bond in 2018 to transform The Post into a dynamic community event space. The renovation preserved many of the building's original architectural features, blending the old with the new. Today, The Post offers a flexible event space suitable for weddings, receptions, corporate events, and more. The venue boasts over 5,000 square feet of space that can be divided into two rooms. The City of Mesa plans to add a Neon Garden, an outdoor venue featuring iconic neon business signs preserved by the Mesa Preservation Foundation.
