Car
If you are already in Petrified Forest National Park and want to reach Chinde Point, start at the Painted Desert Visitor Center, located at 35.0575, -109.7663. From there, head south on the main park road (Petrified Forest Road) for about 7.5 miles. Look for the marked signs for Chinde Point. The turn-off will be to the right, and you will enter a small parking area. Park your vehicle here. Chinde Point is a short, approximately 0.3-mile hike from the parking area. Follow the well-marked trail to the overlook.
Public Transportation
Public transportation options within Petrified Forest National Park are limited. It is recommended to use the park's shuttle service if available during your visit. If there is a shuttle, it typically operates from the visitor center and makes stops at key locations. Confirm the schedule at the Painted Desert Visitor Center. If a shuttle is not available, consider arranging a taxi service in advance from nearby towns like Holbrook, AZ, which is about 30 minutes away, but be aware that this will incur additional costs.
