From downtown Scottsdale, head to the nearest bus stop and catch the Valley Metro Route 72 or 81 towards Phoenix. Stay on the bus for about 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. Get off at the 'Central Ave & Washington' stop. From there, walk north on Central Ave for about 5 minutes until you reach E Washington St. Turn left onto E Washington St and continue for another 5 minutes until you reach 2nd St. Turn right, and Symphony Hall will be on your left at 75 N 2nd St.
