Driving
The primary access to the Sierra Ancha Wilderness is via a network of highways and forest roads. From Phoenix, take Highway 60 east towards Globe, then turn north onto Highway 188, followed by a right onto Highway 288. Depending on your destination within the wilderness, you'll likely need to turn onto Forest Roads, such as FR 203 (Cherry Creek Road) or FR 487 (Workman Creek Road). Be aware that many forest roads are unpaved and may require a high-clearance vehicle, especially FR 203. Road closures may occur seasonally, particularly during winter. There are no entrance fees for the Sierra Ancha Wilderness itself. However, dispersed camping is free, while established campgrounds like Reynolds Creek Group Site may have a fee.

Walking
Once you arrive at a trailhead, such as Workman Creek Falls or Devil's Chasm, the final approach is on foot. Trails range in difficulty, so consult a map and choose a route appropriate for your skill level. The last quarter mile to Devil's Chasm is very steep with loose dirt. Always wear sturdy hiking shoes, carry plenty of water, and be prepared for changing weather conditions. There are no additional costs associated with hiking, but remember to pack out all trash and leave no trace.
