Getting There

Walking

From the Winslow Visitor Center at 523 W 2nd St, head east on W 2nd St to N Kinsley Ave. Turn left onto N Kinsley Ave, then right on E 3rd St. Walk east on E 3rd St to N Park Dr. The fort is just north of the park entrance. The walk is approximately 1 mile and should take around 20 minutes.
Public Transport

Winslow offers a Dial-a-Ride service, which can take you to Brigham City Fort. Reservations must be made at least a day in advance by calling 928-289-1462. The service operates Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A one-way fare is typically around $2.

The settlement, initially called Ballinger's Camp, aimed to be a self-sufficient community based on the United Order, a communal economic system.Life in Brigham City was challenging. The settlers faced difficulties in irrigating their crops, leading to frequent crop failures. Despite their efforts to build dams and mills, droughts and floods plagued the community. The settlement was ultimately abandoned by 1881 due to these hardships.Today, visitors can explore the restored ruins of the fort, including partial exterior walls and building foundations.
