    Getting There

    Driving

    War Eagle Cavern is located at 21494 Cavern Dr, Rogers, AR 72756, approximately midway between Eureka Springs and Rogers, just off Highway 12. From either city, follow Highway 12 and turn onto Cavern Drive. The cavern is about a half-mile down Cavern Drive. Parking is available on-site. Parking is free.

    Boating

    War Eagle Cavern can be accessed by boat on Beaver Lake. From Prairie Creek, Rocky Branch, Lost Bridge, and Starkey Marinas, head south on Beaver Lake to Navigational Marker Number 6. Follow the inlet to the left of the marker towards Devil's Gap. After passing Marker 6, keep to the right and look for the billboard. There is a dock where you can park your boat and walk up to the visitor center. Docking is free for cavern visitors.

    Wear comfortable shoes for the walking tour, and bring a light jacket as the cavern temperature is a constant 58 degrees Fahrenheit.
    Arrive early in the day, especially during peak season, to avoid crowds and ensure you can join the tour of your choice.

    War Eagle Cavern, nestled in the Ozark Mountains near Rogers, Arkansas, offers a unique blend of natural beauty and historical intrigue. Formed over millions of years by the erosion of limestone, this vast cavern system boasts stunning geological formations, including stalactites, stalagmites, rimstone dams, and an underground stream. Originally inhabited by Native Americans and later used as a hideout for outlaws and moonshiners, the cavern has a rich history that adds to its allure. During the Great Depression, the cave provided shelter for families due to the readily available fresh water. Today, visitors can explore the cavern on guided tours, discovering its fascinating past and marveling at its natural wonders. War Eagle Cavern is home to over 75,000 bats, primarily the eastern pipistrelle and gray bat species. The cavern is open from March through Thanksgiving weekend, offering a variety of activities including traditional cavern tours, wild cavern tours, gem panning, a maze, and a Moonshiners' Mystery Shack. The traditional tour is stroller and wheelchair-friendly, making it accessible for families with young children or those with mobility challenges. For the more adventurous, the Wild Cavern Tour offers a chance to explore undeveloped passages with helmets, headlamps, and kneepads provided.
