Discover more about Park Springs Park

Park Springs Park, a beautiful and historically significant part of Bentonville since the 1890s, began with the discovery of two therapeutic springs on the edge of town. This led to the establishment of a sanitarium and later, a popular resort. Today, the park serves as a tranquil urban oasis, characterized by lush greenery and well-maintained walking trails. The park features the Burns Arboretum/Nature Trail, dedicated in 1996, with 43 marked trees and 22 shrubs and plants. Among these, a magnificent white oak sprouted in 1776, and a pignut hickory stands as the largest and oldest of its kind in Arkansas. The playground is designed to stimulate creativity in a safe environment. Throughout its history, Park Springs Park has been a community hub, hosting Civil War reunions in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The State Confederate Veterans' Reunion was held here in 1893. Though the original hotel and sanitarium are gone, remnants of the structures can still be seen along the trails. The park is open daily from 6 AM to 11 PM, offering ample opportunity to enjoy its beauty. Amenities include a covered pavilion with a fireplace, picnic tables, restrooms, and a dog station. Whether for a leisurely stroll, a family outing, or a moment of quiet reflection, Park Springs Park provides a refreshing escape in the heart of Bentonville.
