Baum Gallery: UCA's Art Hub
Inspiring students and the community through diverse contemporary art exhibitions at the University of Central Arkansas.
Located on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) in Conway, the Baum Gallery serves as a vital educational and cultural resource. Since its establishment in 1996, supported by the Baum family's donation, the gallery has been committed to inspiring students, faculty, staff, and the broader central Arkansas community through contemporary art. The Baum Gallery hosts a variety of exhibitions throughout the year, including those featuring UCA student work, faculty invitational shows, and touring exhibitions with national and international artists. These exhibitions span diverse media, including painting, drawing, ceramics, photography, and sculpture. The gallery's mission is to develop exhibitions and events that encourage interaction and dialogue about visual art, its history, creation, criticism, and cultural context. The gallery's director and faculty exhibitions committee collaborate across disciplines to curate original exhibits tailored to an academic environment. Past notable exhibitions have included the works of African-American painters, contemporary art from the Hearne Collection, and showcases of female artists. The Baum Gallery also enriches the educational experience for UCA students by providing opportunities to display their work in a professional museum setting. The Baum Gallery is located within McCastlain Hall. Visitor parking is available south of Wingo Hall and north of the College of Business in spaces marked in blue.
