Getting There

  • Walking

    The Baum Gallery is located in McCastlain Hall on the UCA campus at 201 Donaghey Ave. From most points on campus, the gallery is easily accessible by foot. Reference campus maps or building signage to navigate to McCastlain Hall.

  • Driving

    When driving to the Baum Gallery, enter the UCA campus from Dave Ward Drive onto Donaghey Avenue. Proceed north on Donaghey Avenue to the visitor parking area. Turn left into the parking lot where visitor parking spaces are marked in blue. Parking is free in these designated areas. Note that Bruce Street is closed for tailgating on game days.

Located on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) in Conway, the Baum Gallery serves as a vital educational and cultural resource. Since its establishment in 1996, supported by the Baum family's donation, the gallery has been committed to inspiring students, faculty, staff, and the broader central Arkansas community through contemporary art. The Baum Gallery hosts a variety of exhibitions throughout the year, including those featuring UCA student work, faculty invitational shows, and touring exhibitions with national and international artists. These exhibitions span diverse media, including painting, drawing, ceramics, photography, and sculpture. The gallery's mission is to develop exhibitions and events that encourage interaction and dialogue about visual art, its history, creation, criticism, and cultural context. The gallery's director and faculty exhibitions committee collaborate across disciplines to curate original exhibits tailored to an academic environment. Past notable exhibitions have included the works of African-American painters, contemporary art from the Hearne Collection, and showcases of female artists. The Baum Gallery also enriches the educational experience for UCA students by providing opportunities to display their work in a professional museum setting.
