Tranquil Escapes at Lake Cherrywood

Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Sherwood, head south on East Kiehl Avenue towards Highway 67. Continue walking for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Highway 67. Turn left onto Highway 67 and follow the pedestrian pathway that runs alongside the highway for approximately 1 mile. Look for signs indicating Lake Cherrywood; you might see 'Lake Cherrywood Park' signs along the way. After 1 mile, take the exit for Cherrywood Drive. Walk along Cherrywood Drive for about 0.3 miles until you arrive at the lake area.

• Bicycling

  Start at the Sherwood Community Center located at 51 Shelby Road. Ride your bicycle south on Shelby Road for about 0.3 miles. At the intersection with East Kiehl Avenue, turn right and continue for another 0.5 miles. You will merge onto Highway 67; use the bike lane to travel along the highway for about 1 mile. Watch for signs for Lake Cherrywood, and take the exit for Cherrywood Drive. Ride along Cherrywood Drive for around 0.3 miles until you reach the lake.

• Public Transportation

  Begin at the Sherwood Public Library. From there, take the Pulaski County Metro bus (Route 33) heading towards Little Rock, and get off at the stop at Highway 67 and East Kiehl Avenue. Once you get off, you will need to walk approximately 0.5 miles south along East Kiehl Avenue and then turn left onto Highway 67. Follow the pedestrian path for about 1 mile, watching for signage to Lake Cherrywood. After this distance, take the exit for Cherrywood Drive and walk about 0.3 miles to reach the lake.
