The Cascade Complex is a prominent architectural landmark in Yerevan, Armenia, serving as a grand stairway that links the central Kentron district with the hilltop Victory Park. Originally conceived in the 1920s by architect Alexander Tamanyan, the ambitious project aimed to create a green space with cascading waterfalls and gardens. However, the initial plan was not implemented until the late 1970s, when Yerevan's chief architect, Jim Torosyan, revived the concept. The complex features five main terraces connected by 572 steps, stretching 302 meters in length and 50 meters in width across 13 hectares. The outdoor area showcases a collection of contemporary sculptures by renowned artists such as Fernando Botero and Lynn Chadwick. Inside, escalators and elevators ease the climb to the top. The Cafesjian Museum of Art, established in 2009, is housed within the Cascade, displaying a diverse collection of modern art.
