Getting There

  • Walking

    From the main square of Dilijan, head southeast on Ashot Yerevantsi Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Abovyan Street. Turn left onto Abovyan Street and walk for about 1.5 kilometers. You will see the signs for Matosavank Monastery as you approach. The monastery is located on the right side of the street, nestled in the hills.

    You can take a local minibus (marshrutka) from the central bus station in Dilijan. Look for marshrutkas heading towards the direction of Lake Parz or Goshavank; some will stop near the Monastery. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Matosavank Monastery. Once you get off, follow the signs that lead you up a small pathway to the monastery entrance.
