Getting There

  • Car

    From Geghard Monastery, head west on the main road (Gegard Road) towards the town of Garni. Continue for about 5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the M1 highway. Turn left onto M1 and drive for approximately 3 kilometers. Look for signs indicating the direction to Vahagn Waterfall, which is located off a side road. Park your car at the designated area near the waterfall trailhead. The hike to the waterfall is about 1 kilometer, and it will take around 20-30 minutes on foot.

  • Public Transportation

    From Geghard Monastery, take a local minibus (marshrutka) to Garni. The marshrutka station is located near the monastery entrance. The fare is approximately 300 AMD (Armenian Dram). Once you arrive in Garni, transfer to another marshrutka heading towards the M1 highway. After a short ride, ask the driver to drop you off at the closest point to Vahagn Waterfall. From there, you will need to walk about 1 kilometer to reach the waterfall, which will take about 20-30 minutes.

    If you prefer to walk from Geghard Monastery to Vahagn Waterfall, follow the main road towards Garni. It's a scenic walk of about 5 kilometers to the M1 highway.
