Discover more about Manukyan Brandy Factory

The Manukyan Brandy Factory, established in 2015, represents a fusion of modern technology and ancient Armenian winemaking practices. Founded by Melik Manukyan, who also established a glass container factory, the winery aims to create remarkable wines and brandies that reflect Armenia's rich agricultural heritage. The factory is located in the Kotayk region, near the Yerevan-Sevan highway. The architecture features striking white buildings, overseen by a prominent eagle statue. Inside, state-of-the-art fermentation units and a distinctive brandy spirit distillation machine highlight the blend of innovation and tradition. Visitors can explore the vineyards, which cultivate both native Armenian and European grape varieties, including Areni Noir, Voskeat, Kangun, Cot Malbec, Haghtanak, Aligote, and Cabernet Franc. The grapes benefit from the unique climate and soil composition of the Ararat Valley and Vayots Dzor regions. The factory also incorporates ancient winemaking techniques, such as fermentation in soil-dug amphoras and the traditional Kakhani method. Wine cellars, including one carved eight meters deep into the rock, provide optimal conditions for aging. Tours of the Manukyan Brandy Factory typically include visits to the production facilities, aging cellars, and the Anamor Fortress, with tastings of Bibliotheca wines. For an additional fee, guests can also tour the Saranist glass container factory to learn about glass production. The factory is equipped with modern European equipment, and aging occurs in Armenian, American, and French oak barrels.
